Pamela Wilson here and I have an adventure up my sleeve, but first travel back in time with me to September 9, 2005. Many of you know and some of you do not I had open heart surgery on this date. This day forever changed my life! I was given the gift of life and since I was given this gift I too want to give back!

Therefore I have decided to run a marathon, yes you heard me right! I will be running the Women's Nike Marathon on October 21, 2007, a 26.2 mile course! I know some of you are probably asking "are you crazy?" and wondering why I am telling you this. Well, I need your help.

My marathon is not just any marathon it is for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; I am part of their "Team in Training" program. I made this commitment due to personal experiences with the disease. In July of 1991 my mother Ruth Trowbridge passed away from cancer, the week before my mom died I lost my best friend Lisa Lane to Lymphoma she was 23 years old. A few years later another good friend of mine Beth lost her battle with leukemia; she was in her mid 30's and had a teenage daughter. Currently one of my really good friends Scott is battling the disease, as well as good friend of mine's 17 year old son. Although there is still no cure for leukemia or other related cancers, hopefully through research and fund-raising efforts like "Team in Training" we may one day be able to find a cure.
As a member of TNT, I not only have accepted the challenge of running a marathon , but also of raising $5,000., by October 11, 2007 to fund research efforts for leukemia and its cure. I am asking you to open your hearts & wallets to consider giving generously to the leukemia & lymphoma society by sponsoring me in this endeavor. Every little bit helps, so please know whatever your donation may be it is MUCH appreciated. To donate online (very quick and user-friendly) go to my personal Team in Training website at http://www.active.com/donate/tntcfl/tntcflPWilson
I keep saying to myself Women's Nike Marathon 26.2 miles up hill, down hill rain or shine, Pam are you crazy? Well, maybe I am but the cause for which I am running affects so many and is one that is very dear to my heart. When I cross that finish line I will have the satisfaction and fulfillment of knowing I helped contribute to the fight against leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma blood cancers. I look forward to updating you on my financial and physical training progress along the way via my personal page that I listed above on the TNT website. Check it out today!
THANK YOU for your support from the bottom of my HEART!!!!!
